We define these lines as meaning “caution or stand back”.

Lines, colors, life are defined by the meanings we give to them.

So is “HAPPY”…

After working with patients and coaching clients from all walks of life, I’m thoroughly convinced that HAPPY IS OVERRATED!

We define it as something that we must simply (or complicatedly) have. So it’s something we pursue and desperately attempt to hold on to. We look for it everywhere and in everyone.

Quickly we realize that defining happy in this way is like attempting to hold on to mercury!

It’s no wonder that mercury is used to measure temperature!

Temperature is always changing and never the same.

The very thing we attempt to hold onto is the thing we are trying to use as a thermometer in our lives…measuring our happiness.

When it gets too low we will do everything in our power to bring it up. Even if it means doing something that quite disappointingly leaves us feeling more unhappy (uncomfortable) the day after…and after…and happily NEVER after.

Often times we convince ourselves that we are ‘happy”, but instead we are just doing everything we can to “not be unhappy”.

But is not being unhappy the same as being happy?

HAPPY IS OVERRATED, BECAUSE IT’S OVERLOOKED!

A “newly defined happy” is the result of setting the thermostats (decisions) in our lives to a temperature that allows “HAPPY” to be recognized.

Are there “lines” in your life that are getting in the way of you seeing/feeling your HAPPY?

FEAR HAS A WAY OF DOING THAT!
HMMM…
